This is the picture I was looking for to add to our 4th of July weekend. It was so beautiful!

Fun Week!

Barrett and I were able to spend a lot of time with both of our families last week, and we had a blast!
We went to the zoo one morning and had fun with our nieces and nephews.

Train ride
The zoo has a new carousel with fun animals to ride on. There were a lot of pictures, but I had to just choose two of the best.

On Friday we went boating with the Yates' side of the family. I love this face while Barrett is tubing!
Tubing with Barrett's cousin, Lauren.
We went golfing the morning of the 4th at Wolfcreek Golf Course which was beautiful! The temperature was perfect and the view was amazing. I'm working on getting the picture of us golfing.

For the rest of the 4th we were with my family having a barbecue, playing games, and lighting fireworks.
I loved this picture of my mom with Korver and Maliya. So cute!

Jeff was the only one willing to spend money on fireworks, so he provided our show. Even some exciting ones that shot high in the air.

Jeff also took Barrett and I shooting with his handguns and I was bummed that I forgot to take my camera for pictures. We were also able to play golf another time during the week at Stonebridge with Isaac and Barrett's dad. Overall, it was an eventful and fun week!

Happy Anniversary!

As of May 24 it has already been one year since we have been married! We can't believe how fast time flies! When we think back to the days of high school choir, commuting between Utah State and BYU, frantically getting emails in once a week for two years, falling in love all over again, commuting between Utah State and BYU for a second round, and our amazing sealing in the Salt Lake Temple, it's hard to imagine that we have a whole new set of memories to add to our story: our first trips together and with family, staying up late to watch any new TV series or movie we are into, finishing house projects, golfing, or laughing at each other's quirks. I am so excited to keep adding to our journey and can't wait for all that lies ahead! I love you Barrett Yates!

Dancing Korver

Melissa and Jon and their kids came to our house a couple weekends ago to celebrate Melissa's birthday. While some music was playing we started laughing as we saw Korver dancing. He can't even move around yet (well she just informed me that he now scoots as of last Thursday), but he sure can dance. He responded to music since he was born, but at 7 months he has found a way to dance. If you listen carefully you can hear the music.
Here is the video:

Arches

I went on a trip with work to Arches. Families First was invited to go with the girls community in Tooele, called Alpine Academy, because we are going to be working with them doing transition work. It was a lot of fun! I can't believe I haven't been before. For those of you out there who haven't been yet either, plan a trip soon.
The whole group:
We saw many arches, but this view was beautiful

These next few pictures are in the Fiery Furnace. You have to go with a Tour Guide or someone else who is trained. But it is totally worth it.

Skull Arch

Beginning of the trail at the famous Delicate Arch. This is my Families First group.

Delicate Arch was more amazing than I ever imagined. It is spectacular as it just stands there on its own, magnificent in size.

Tabernacle Organ

I had the amazing opportunity to attend 4 organ workshops with the Tabernacle organist, Richard Elliott! At the end of the classes he allowed those who had attended all the classes to play the Tabernacle organ. Seriously a once in a lifetime opportunity. People come from all over the world to place the Tabernacle organ! What was even more exciting was that Barrett and I have been preparing a piano/organ duet for church and were able to play it together at the Tabernacle. I wish it was on video for everyone to hear, but the pictures (which are still amazing) will have to do.Our organ class

Playing "All Creatures of Our God and King"
Richard changed the stops for us, making everything sound dramatic and exciting.

He took us on a tour of the pipe chambers after, which is another amazing sight in itself.

Jon Schmidt's dad just happened to take the classes and Jon was able to play the organ there as well. We thought we'd get a picture between the two famous LDS stars.

Haircut

After a few months of long hair, Barrett's hair is now short (much to the happiness of his mom). Because of the increasing comments I decided I would post a picture of the new Barrett.
