Sledding and Ice Skating

Barrett was able to take a lot of time off the week of Christmas and New Year's and it was really nice having him around all the time. I didn't mention in my last post that we had a Christmas miracle and had snow when we woke up Christmas morning. Everyone thinks of Norway as having a long, snowy winter, but not in Stavanger. It is dark, but not snowy. We are on the southern coast so we don't get much snow, so we were really excited to have a white Christmas.
The day after Christmas we took Lily sledding on hill right next to our house as you walk to the lake.

I tried to teach her how to do a snow angel, but as you can see it was hard to even get a snow angel with all the grass poking through, ha ha. (And a little hard to move around with my pregnant belly)

Such a beautiful area!

A fun video of Lily going down by herself. If you listen closely at the beginning she says "Ready, set, go". It's so funny to watch her do things like this because she seems so emotionless while doing them. But she asked to go down over and over and then talked about it for days after, so I guess she had a good time.

On New Year's Day we took Lily ice skating for the first time. Again, she didn't seem to like it too much and didn't want to let go of us, but talked about it for awhile after.
They had these awesome penguins that helped her skate a little bit by herself.
